Hi all,
Well mom got 2 video movies, and when we sat down to watch them, the vcr wouldn't play. I thought it was the tapes at first, but we put one of the good older ones in, and it wouldn't work either. Well the vcr is around 20 years old, but still, it was depressing. We watched a movie on tv about a man who had been frozen in a capsule for 50 years, and it was pretty good. I'm still sort of depressed about the vcr though. The thought of learning to work another vcr is depressing. Everything is so complicated nowadays.

I know what you mean, but like people electronics don't last for ever. I doubt being 20 years old that it is worth having repaired. I'd recommend you get a vcr/dvd convo.

Yeah ours went on us twice. So we now do DVDs instead. Which are nice but the one vcr we have that still works we keep upstairs for those who just wanna watch family movies that are stored on a VHS tape.

Yeah, we have both a vcr and a dvd player, mostly because 3/4 of our movies are on vhs. But dvd players are much nicer, because you get all the extra features and stuff, but we still have a vcr too.

Yeah we have a VCR and DVD. But our DVD is like outo f commission right now, in my eyes/ears, seeing as I don't know how to work it yet. But I don't watch many movies anyway. But I like DVD's better because of all the extra stuff. But VHS's are easier to work with, I think. So far.

Hi Caitlin and niblit, Well maybe those extra features are for the young, I guess. You're right Caitlin, about the vhs being more simple, my old vcr was very simple, and having to part with it is like parting with an old buddy. But I don't know who would fix it, or if it even could be fixed. Frankly, I don't think they should stop selling the old, just because the more new comes in. I think everybody should have a choice.
